A captain known for his inspiration and example
Thierry Dusautoir is an international French rugby player. Playing as a third-row wing, he played 11 seasons at the Stade Toulousain and won 80 selections in the French team until his retirement in May 2017.
With the French team, of which he holds the record for the number of capitanats (56), he took part in the Grand Slam obtained in 2010 and played in the lost final of the 2011 World Cup, competition of which he participated in three editions, in 2007, 2011 and 2015. In club, he started in the French Championship with the CA Bègles-Bordeaux, joined the US Colomiers then the Olympic Biarritz, with which he won two French titles and played in a European Cup final. In 2006, he joined the Stade Toulousain, winning three new French championship titles, and competing in a new European Cup final before winning the 2009-2010 edition.
As an individual, he was voted the best player in the world for 2011 by the International Rugby Board. He also held the tackle record in a single game (38 tackles against New Zealand in 2007).
