Pascal Boniface is Director of the Institute of International and Strategic Relations (IRIS) and teaches at the Institute of European Studies at the University of Paris 8.
Pascal Boniface is also the editor of La Revue internationale et stratégique (published quarterly since 1991) and L’Année stratégique (published annually since 1985).
He has written or edited some sixty books on international relations, nuclear and disarmament issues, power relations, French foreign policy, the impact of sport on international relations (he developed the concept of the geopolitics of sport), the Middle East conflict and its repercussions in France. Many of them have become classics, regularly republished and translated into several languages.
Pascal Boniface publishes numerous articles in international geopolitical journals, regularly appears in the national and international media, both written and audiovisual, and gives numerous lectures and debates in France and abroad. He is one of the most followed geopolitologists on social networks, notably Twitter and Facebook. He deciphers international news on video on his YouTube channel “Comprendre le monde”. He is an editorialist for the daily newspapers La Croix (France), La Vanguardia (Spain) and Al Ittihad (United Arab Emirates).
Pascal Boniface is a member of the National Ethics Council of the French Football Federation. He is also a consultant on geopolitical issues for the Museum of Olympism and a geopolitical consultant for the NGO Peace and Sport.
Pascal Boniface is a Knight of the National Order of Merit and an Officer of the Legion of Honour. He was also awarded the Vauban Prize in 2012.
