With more than 25 years of experience, she has led companies with +600 million USD in revenues in North America, Latin America, Europe and worldwide.
Maria joined Vivendi Group in 2014 after 18 years of experience in North America, Latin America and Europe. She has held operational and strategic marketing roles in various FMCG blue chips, including Colgate Palmolive Co & Mondelez.
Between 2018 and 2021, she was Senior Vice President Brand Marketing at Vivendi Group, where she drove synergies across units and strengthened Vivendi’s global position and leadership in entertainment through strategic marketing initiatives.
She was also Chief Insights Officer for the Havas Group and managed more than 300 people in over 40 countries in the area of consumer research and market statistics.
In her role at Havas, Maria managed the innovation practice, particularly in the startup ecosystem, exploring data science, artificial intelligence and marketing technology, enabling more effective use of innovation internally and delivering value-added services that have significant impact on clients and their businesses.
Maria is a prolific global speaker and sought-after thought leader, having presented at Cartagena Inspira, Bloomberg News, Mumbrella Australia, Cannes Lions, South Summit, CubeX Mumbai and IBC, World Retail Congress, IAB Mexico, among others.
She has also served as a jury member for Dubai Lynx, Cannes Lions Festival and as President of the Entertainment Jury at Eurobest and CannesLions.
Maria is also an independent director of Carmila and LiveXlive & a member of the international board of ESCP Business School and Marketing World 50.
Maria is also passionate about enabling other women to succeed and advises European women’s startup competitions, an active member of the International Women’s Forum, and an advisor to NGOs that support immigrant women, victims of domestic violence, helping them to claim their rights and thrive.
She is the initiator of the startup TERRANAM Wellness which is located in Galicia, Spain, her home country.
Terranam’s goal is to help everyone develop healthy self-care practices. Part of the profits are dedicated to the organization of wellness retreats for women victims of domestic violence.
