Guy Lagache has established himself as a key figure in French television journalism.
He first graduated with a master’s degree in history, then obtained a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism with the title of best foreign student. In 1990, he began working as a reporter for the Capa agency, then for the national newsroom of France 3, working for Christine Ockrent on her programme France Europe Express. In 1995, he joined a small, up-and-coming channel, M6, via the editorial staff of Capital and Secret d’actualités.
In 2003, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the programme Capital, replacing Emmanuel Chain. His professional success will even lead him to conduct in 2009, with Laurence Ferrari (TF1), David Pujadas (France 2) and Alain Duhamel (RTL) the interview of the President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy. In 2011, after 16 years at M6, he decided to join the Direct 8 channel as director of programmes and news.
He left the channel in early 2018 to devote himself to his own content production company. From May 2018 to July 2019, he was the deputy director of antennas and editorial strategy at Radio France. In 2020, he will be presenting some issues of the “grands entretiens” for La Chaîne Parlementaire, LCP.
