Born without a left hand, Damien Seguin leads two careers: one in Paralympic sailing, the other in ocean racing. Triple Paralympic medalist in 2.4 mR (Gold medalist in Athens and Rio and a silver medal in Beijing) and five-time world champion in this discipline, Damien made his debut in ocean racing in 2005 in Figaro (sailboat one-design, 10.20 meters long and support for the French Elite offshore racing championship).
The skipper then switched to Class 40 (12-meter long monohull) running numerous races: transatlantic races but also two Route du Rhum in 2010 and 2014 … Determined and in constant search for progress, the one who has been able to convince for years that his handicap was not an obstacle to his immersion in the sporting environment of the able-bodied, is now tackling a major challenge: the Vendée Globe. He thus finished 6th in the famous race.
