Charles Pépin is a philosopher and novelist.Born in 1973, he graduated from Sciences-Po Paris, HEC and agrégé in philosophy.
He taught philosophy at the House of Education of the Legion of Honor (Saint Denis) and at Sciences-Po Paris. He has published several philosophical essays including This is not a manual of philosophy (Flammarion, 2010), Quand la beauté nous saves (Robert Laffont, 2013) and, recently, two bestsellers: Les Vertus of failure (Allary EUditions, 2016) and La Confiance en soi (Allary EU ditions, 2018) .He also publishes novels. His latest, La Joie (Allary EUditions, 2015) is an inspired variation of Camus’s L’Etranger. With Jul, he writes comics about philosophy and philosophers. La Planète des Sages (Dargaud, two volumes, 2011 and 2015), Platon La Gaffe (Dargaud, 2013) or even 50 nuances de Grecs (Dargaud, two volumes, 2017 and 2019) which have all been bookstore successes.
Charles Pépin regularly gives lectures and writes a column in Philosophie Magazine where he responds every month to a philosophical question formulated by a reader.
For ten years, he has hosted a philosophy seminar open to all: “Les lundi philos de Charles Pépin” with the MK2 institute in Paris.
In 2020, he launched a podcast on Spotify “Charles Pépin: a practical philosophy”. Each week, Charles Pépin offers a 30-minute podcast on a philosophical question. Charles Pépin is one of the most translated French essayists abroad.
