André Comte-sponville

Philosopher

André Comte-Sponville is a French philosopher, author and lecturer whose work has been translated into more than thirty languages. The author of “the spirit of atheism” brings to the conference a philosophical reflection on motivation, change management and the meaning of work.


A former student of the École Normale Supérieure de la rue d’Ulm, associate of philosophy, postgraduate doctorate, Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Mons-Hainaut, in Belgium, he was for a long time Lecturer at the Sorbonne ( Paris I University).

 

He now lives only from his pen and his lectures.

 

He is the author of numerous works, including “Is Capitalism Moral?”, “Treatise on Despair and Beatitude”, “Philosophical Dictionary”, A Philosophical Education and “Value and Truth” (Cynical Studies) . He is a much appreciated philosopher for his great knowledge but also for his clarity and his ability to address any audience.

André Comte-Sponville regularly participates in conferences and university publications. In particular, he edited three issues of the International Philosophy Review and spoke for several companies and associations (AGF, Thomson, PSA, Total, EDF, Groupama, Vivendi, Azur GMF, Galeries La Fayette, Sopra, Crédit Mutuel, Crédit coopératif, Axa, Dexia, Crédit Agricole, etc.)
